1-Apple poised to launch redesigned M1-based MacBook, Mac models in 2021.

Apple recently launched new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with M1 chipset but it did not change the way these laptops look. That might change next year.

Apple is planning to make radical changes to how its MacBooks have looked for a long time, according to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In his latest note, Kuo has mentioned the Apple will populate its computer lineup with new models powered by the ARM-based M1 chipset, but those models will look different from what these current models do. Apple launched the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with M1 chip earlier this month but it did not introduce any changes to their design. But in the second half of next year, that might turn out to be true.

The 2020 models of MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are not fundamentally different design-wise from their previous models but Apple did make a change. It removed the fan from the MacBook Air but retained it on the Pro model. This change is not a major one, and even if it was it does not impact the outer design of the MacBook Air, causing it to look the same way it used to before. Kuo has said that this design will eventually see a makeover next year but he has not detailed how this will play out.

Apple sells MacBook Air with a 13-inch screen while its MacBook Pro comes with 14- and 16-inch displays. The design changes that Kuo is talking about might include changes in display sizes, as well, but I am not too sure about them. These are standard laptop display sizes that are common among different types of laptops, which is what Apple will also try to follow going forward despite any changes that it might be planning for the MacBook models.

As far as Apple is concerned, it changes the design of its products in several years. It makes a radical change and then sticks to it for a long time, but it seems that time is going to be over for MacBooks soon.

Additionally, Kuo has also said that Apple will also refresh the Mac desktop computers. Apple could bring the rumoured 24-inch iMac with a revamped design, along with a mini version of the Mac Pro. Both iMac and Mac Pro were refreshed earlier this year, but their design still remains largely the same. Apple might change how these two computer models look when it brings them in 2021 along with the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models.

In his note, Kuo also highlighted the performance of the Apple products that it recently launched. These products include the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. According to the analyst, the iPhone 12 series is in strong demand in the market. He said the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro are in huge demand while the iPhone 12 mini and vanilla iPhone 12 are showing a lower demand than expected. Other products, too, are observing strong demands in the market as Apple is hopeful about the holiday season in the US.

But while all product lines from Apple are witnessing considerate response from buyers, the AirPods are selling underwhelmingly. Kuo has said that the sales for AirPods are flat right now, which could dip further by 5 to 10 per cent going into 2021. This is because Apple is prioritising iPhone 12 right now and the fact that there are no new AirPods models in the market to buy. Apple was poised to launch new AirPods this year but that did not happen. Rumours were also rife that AirPods Studio will arrive alongside. Apple may now bring these two AirPods devices next year in the second half.

After many leaks and speculations, the smartphone has been released with a MediaTek Help G25 SoC and a 48-megapixel camera.

Moto E7 Price and availability

Moto E7 was launched in Europe for EUR 119.99 (approximately Rs 10,550). The phone will be available in Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray, and Satin Coral color options. The E7 will go on sale Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia. Motorola has not shared any official details about the India launch yet.

Moto E7 Specifications

Moto E7 features a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. In terms of camera, it features a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel sensor on the rear. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies. The smartphone is expected to house a 4000mAh battery and run on Android 10 out of the box. The smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G25 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The Moto E7 comes in a lone 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. For connectivity, it will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi, LTE, GPS, and Bluetooth.

We used the phone for some time and here is what we felt about it: In just Rs 9,499, with the E7 Plus, you get a fantastic camera, near stock-Android experience, and a decent chipset that drives the show. Though, you do miss out on the fast charging. But then, we can’t always have everything on a phone in this price range. However, if your budget is higher than Rs 10,000 and you cannot do without fast chargers, then you can go for the latest Realme Narzo phones or something from the Redmi 9 series

3-Oppo Reno 5 series tipped to sport Snapdragon 765G, Dimensity 1000+ chipsets

Oppo is said to bring the Reno 5 5G series to markets next year in January or February.

Oppo is working on the next Reno series, called the Reno 5 series. Several leaks have emerged so far, pointing to the fact that the smartphones under this new series will support 5G and bring upgraded specifications. Reportedly, there could be a Reno 5, a Reno 5 Pro, and a Reno 5 Pro+ that Oppo will launch at the event. Now the details of two of these devices have cropped up on the Geekbench benchmarking website, including the information on their processors.

The Oppo Reno 5 series phones that have showed up on the Geekbench website bearing model numbers PEGM00 and PDST00. The first device has been listed on the website with the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor while the second model can be seen powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. Both these processors come with inbuilt 5G modems, which will facilitate 5G connectivity on the Reno 5 series models. It is, however, not clear which model will run the MediaTek processor and which one will be powered by the Qualcomm chipset.

The Geekbench listings have also revealed some extra information about the Reno 5 series devices. The listings show that there will be Android 11 software and 8GB of RAM on both the devices. This could mean that one variant for each smartphone will have 8 gigs of RAM, but there could be more variants having more RAM. The internal storage variants for the Reno 5 series devices are also not known right now, but there could be at least 64GB of storage going by the company’s history when it comes to the Reno series. Expectedly, a microSD card will also be present on both these handsets.

Oppo Reno 5 specification

Apart from this information, the Geekbench listings do not reveal much. But we have been treated with various leaks that paint a picture of what to expect from the Oppo Reno 5 series smartphones. According to rumours, the Oppo Reno 5 will come with a 6.43-inch OLED panel, a 4300mAh battery with 65W fast charging, and a setup of four cameras at the back, including 64MP, 8MP, 2MP, and 2MP sensors. The front camera information is not known, but we can assume it to have either a 32MP or a 44MP camera, going by what previous models brought onboard.

The Oppo Reno 5 series is said to launch sometime in January or February next year, although a concrete timeline is not clear yet. Oppo is also poised to launch the Find X3 flagship devices next year in February with some interesting technologies, including the 10-bit colour system and a new dual-camera system involving the Sony IMX700 series sensors.
